Ooh, shiny glowing animated goodness.
I truly loved TRON LEGACY, (I saw it three times), and am quite excited about the prospect of returning to the universe again. Hopefully we’ll get a third film soon, too.
A thought for TRANSFORMERS 3, and a clip from THUNDERCATS
I dropped by the lovely Greenwich Picturehouse yesterday to watch TRANSFORMERS 3D. And, I really have to give Michael Bay some credit. He constantly delivers. Okay, it’s exactly the same thing he delivers each time, but that just makes it easier for us to prepare for, right?
The opening sequence is really a highlight. The space scenes in this, plus those in THE GREEN LANTERN have really impressed me. I want to see a Star Wars type film in 3D. I really do.
If there was a story, I couldn’t really see it in there. Acting? Well, on occasion people reacted to explosions. On occasion they didn’t. I never cared for any of the characters – except maybe some of the Transformers themselves. I did love the Leonard Nimoy references throughout.
I know, I know. Talking about ‘plot’ and ‘characters’ in TRANSFORMERS film is a little pointless. But stop. Think a minute. Why not? Why can’t we have those things? Wouldn’t the action seem so much more exciting if we were invested in what was happening on screen?
Thundercats Ho!
Keeping with the 80′s toy/cartoon theme, I stumbled upon a clip from the Cartoon Network’s re-imagining of THUNDERCATS this morning. The characters are leaner and meaner. Of course, the recent attempt to bring back MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE failed (Which is a shame, because I enjoyed the little I saw of it), so I hope that this has a little more success.
